On March 17, the inaugural event of the "Expert Talks on Special Topics" series, as part of the "Party Building Red Leading Sci-Tech Innovation Blue" brand activities, and the Songjiang District Academician and Expert Workstation Work Exchange Meeting, took place at Cui Rui Low Carbon Company. Dong Qing, Party Group Secretary of the District Science and Technology Committee and Science Association and Executive Vice Chairman of the District Science Association, and Xiao Yang, Director of the District Science and Technology Committee, attended the event. Nearly 50 participants included responsible comrades from the Academic Department of the City Science Association, personnel above the deputy section level from the District Science and Technology Committee and Science Association, representatives of academicians and expert workstations that were assessed as excellent in 2022, and representatives of enterprises that plan to establish stations in 2023.

The Secretary of the Party Committee of the District Science and Technology Committee, and the Executive Deputy Chairman of the District Science Association, Dong Qing, stated that "Expert Talks on Special Topics" is a key annual initiative under the "Party-led Red guiding Sci-tech Blue" brand. The goal is to leverage Party building as a platform to make the committee's business operations more effective and outstanding. After in-depth research in their respective fields, each committee member can become an "expert," diving deep into the root of each task to create specialized topics.

For this reason, he emphasized that all committee work should identify the "trigger points" for precise entry into key business issues, exerting real effort to ensure effectiveness. Each member within the committee should become an "expert" in their respective field, and their work should reflect the high standards of Songjiang's development, demonstrating a strong sense of mission and honor. He urged that the starting and ending points of all work must be solidly rooted at the grassroots level. Both investigation and research are essential, and there should be maximum integration of internal and external resources to significantly improve work quality.

Director of the District Science and Technology Committee, Xiao Yang, presented certificates to the eight academicians and expert workstations that were evaluated as outstanding in 2022.

Feng Li, representing the Innovation Service Department, delivered a themed report on "Leveraging Intellectual Capital to Boost Innovation." Focusing on the construction of academician and expert workstations in Songjiang, she provided a detailed overview of the national and city-wide workstation landscape, the district's developmental journey, operational model, areas of improvement, and future directions. Over the past decade, the total number of Songjiang academician and expert workstations has reached 79. They have conducted thousands of consultations and training sessions with businesses, produced over 100 decision-making advisory reports, trained more than 400 technical experts, generated over 270 technological achievements, been granted 103 invention patents, and won more than 20 national and provincial-level awards for technological achievements. Additionally, nine enterprises have successfully gone public. These workstations have provided a continuous influx of intellectual resources for the high-tech industrial development in Songjiang.

Representatives of the 2022 Excellent Academician and Expert Workstations—in particular, the CuRui Academician Workstation—shared insights in a presentation themed "Pooling High-end Intellectual Resources for Low-carbon Development." Two excellent workstations assessed in 2022 and one enterprise planning to establish a workstation in 2023 discussed their progress. Prior to the event, attendees also visited the CuRui Academician Workstation's low-carbon technology platform.

In-depth learning and implementation of the principles from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party will continue to be a focus. Going forward, the Party Committee of the District Science and Technology Commission will launch monthly events. Through the initiative "Party-led Red Guiding Science and Innovation Blue," they aim to guide all committee members and officials in consciously studying Xi Jinping's thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This is part of an ongoing effort to continually promote high-quality development in the field of scientific and technological informatization.
